Obstetrician/Gynecologist
Dr Fogelson graduated from Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine and completed his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Medical University of South Carolina. After six years of academic practice he completed a fellowship in Pelvic Surgery at Emory University. He now practices and teaches Obstetrics and Gynecology as an Assistant Professor at the Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr Fogelson has interests in the use of social media and technology for communication in medicine and software development in medicine, and is the creator of the blog and podcast Academic OB/GYN, a popular source of women's health related medical information among physicians and laypeople alike. Dr Fogelson has been recognized as an excellent educator by residents and medical students at multiple institutions, and is dedicated to helping young medical students and physicians develop their skills and knowledge. Dr Fogelson also has particular clinical interests in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including the use of the DaVinci robotic system in performing complex gynecologic surgeries without making large surgical incisions.
Prior to medical school, Dr Fogelson was awarded a degree in Computer and Information science, and continues to use these skills by writing medical software for use by himself and others.
