Dr. Jacques S. Abramowicz is the Frances T. and Lester B. Knight Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rush University in Chicago. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with special training in Ultrasound and Maternal Fetal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) and the American Gynecological and Obstetrical Society (AGOS). He was on the Board of Governors of AIUM until 2006 and is the past Chair of its Bioeffects Committee. He is also the past Chair of the Bioeffects and Safety Committee of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG). He is Director of Ob/Gyn Ultrasound and Co-Director of the Rush Fetal and Neonatal Medicine Center at Rush University Medical Center. His research has been published in close to 200 manuscripts and book chapters particularly in the fields of prenatal diagnosis and treatment of fetal anomalies, early diagnosis of ovarian cancer, 3D/4D ultrasound, and bioeffects and safety of ultrasound. He has been married for 39 years to his wife Annie and they have two married children, Shelly and Ory.
