Our Top Tips for Getting Pregnant

Women today have so many options when it comes to getting pregnant. Do’s and Don’ts can consume her world, but if you’d ask her she’d tell you its all worth it. Everything from supplements to weight control, from timing her cycles to positions in sex to less stress and changing her diet can increase her chances of conceiving.

Timing and Positions

Timing plays such an important roll when you trying to conceive so it’s very important for a woman to track her cycles in order to time it right. Just prior to ovulation and on the ovulation day is the best time to have sex. Many people will tell you deep penetration is best during this time since the sperm is released closest to the cervix. A male positioned on top of the female as she faces away from him is said to have the deepest penetration, however many will argue that the missionary position is just as effective.

Diet and Weight

Believe it or not being underweight or overweight can significantly decrease your chances of conception due to an unstable hormonal balance. Diet and exercise keep your body and its cycles on track. Besides that, ovulation can not take place when your menstrual cycle is not on time. Decreasing stress and having a positive attitude don’t hurt either since your hormonal balance follows closely to your mental and emotional balances.

Supplements

Certain supplements like Omega-3, folic acids and prenatals can help increase a women’s fertility level. Vitamin B and folic acid are proven to decrease birth defects whereas more people are learning that Omega-3 fatty acids are strongly beneficial during pregnancy, helping the development of the eyes and brain of the baby. These vitamins don’t interfere with each other negatively but it’s recommended that no less than 400mcg’s of folic acid should be taken regularly. Talk to your doctor more about supplements that can help your situation.
